In the garden and vineyard there are various fruit trees: cherries, apples, nectarines, etc. Notice which fruit is ripe at the moment you are there. Eat as much as you want or make delicious jam, quince, applesauce. Only we prefer not to eat the grapes, we save them for wine ;)

The Vineyard

Behind the estate you will find two vineyards that are more than 100 years old. The stairs take you to the second highest vineyard. They are Mencía (white) and Jerez (blue) grapes.
Segundo Camacho takes care of the vineyard and makes the wine for La Finca Roja (and he does that for several others in the town, part of the harvest for him and part for us). In the cafe they serve, among other things, these homemade wines and pomace (brandy, famous in this region), made in an ecological and traditional way. Los Camachos have won many awards with their pomace, just ask about the Pomace named after Segundo’s uncle: Mariano Camacho. If you like it you can take a bottle home if you want when visiting the Camachos bar.

Segundo and his wife Camino’s beautiful, small, authentic café-restaurant is called Los Camachos. You can find it on Calle Llano Barrio de San Cayetano (in the beautiful old town of Potes, everyone knows it). In addition to wine and pomace, you can get a daily menu and authentic specialties from the region (only at lunch time). I recommend this regional dish: Cocido Lebaniego.
